Paper making with leaves
hand made paper using leaves from the garden
Course is listed in AU$ - find your currency here.
This fun yet a little bit messy craft will show you the basics of making paper using plants from the garden and scrap paper from your home. You'll be creating "art" paper that is beautiful to use for writing, print making, stitching into a book or turning into art pieces. (But not suitable for putting through your printer).
Use your hands to make something that is raw and honest and beautiful - lets call it wabi sabi. I think you'll love this project and find lots of uses for your paper.
Combine with my Simple Book Making course and make a whole book from scratch! Wow and yay.
You'll need a deckle & mold - I'll show you how to make your own, or you can buy one. And a whiz machine (I have an old stick blender that I got from an op-shop). And a few other things you probably have sitting around at home - such as an old blanket and a tub.
Hi, I’m an artist, author, creative maker & mentor. My ethos is about slowing down, creating intentionally & gently guiding Creatives on how to listen to your inner whisper.
I’m also a mother, lover of walking bare-feet in the forest & swimming naked in the ocean, textile crafter & creative teacher.
I share stories & heart-ful living, in a slow intentional manner. I’m truly happiest talking with my flowers in the garden, a light sprinkle of rain tumbling on the heads of my children who are gathering blooms beside me. And watching the way the light falls on the tall gum trees in our forest.
The complex aspect of me means that I love both the quiet of crafting & art-making alone, but also feel energised by spending time with other creatives sharing our time together, stitch by stitch, word by word.
Tea & cake, & lots of messy fabrics & tangled threads, along with gathered leaves, twigs, seedpods or bird nests play a big part of my life
